The Breville VBM006 doesn't have the features or price to compete with the best breadmakers on the market at the moment.

The Breville Antony Worrall Thompson VBM006 breadmaker has been around for a while (it was first released at the start of 2009). It’s one of the most distinctive breadmakers on the market, with a silver and black design, LCD display and external fruit and nut dispenser. It’s not clear how much input Antony Worrall Thompson had on the design of the breadmaker, but the chef’s “favourite” recipes are included in the box.

Breville VBM006 Features

The VBM006 is a relatively cheap breadmaker. It comes with 10 different programmes, which is a little on the light side for a modern breadmaker. It goes, however, include settings for producing cakes and jams which is a useful bonus. A positive of the VBM006 is that it allows you to customise your loaf. There are three different loaf sizes and three settings for crust colour. Combined with the various programmes, these features make it possible to bake a loaf that’s perfectly suited to your tastes and requirements. Other features of the Breville VBM006 include a 13 hour delay timer, fast bake setting and one hour keep warm function. These timer are all in line with the best modern breadmakers at the moment so the VBM006 won’t let you down there. The machine also comes with dishwasher safe bread pan and kneading blade, easy to understand display and a viewing window. A bonus feature is the fruit and nut dispenser. This allows you to add extra ingredients into the mix, providing greater variety in bread type.

Breville VBM006 Reviews

The VBM006 has received mixed reviews from other buyers. Some have enjoyed using the machine, and have used to it bake tasty bread, although the recipes are sometimes said to be incorrect. Others mention that the bread wasn’t the same quality as other breadmakers they’ve tried. Most reviewers agree that the machine looks good, is capable or reasonable quality bread but requires a separate recipe book.

Breville VBM006 Rating And Conclusion

Unfortunately, the VBM006 is not a bread maker we could recommend. When it was first released the machine could compete with others on the market, but today there are much better options in this price range such as the Kenwood BM260 and Morphy Richards 48321.We’ve decided to award this model 2 out of 5 stars.
